  • JZS161 ecu immobilizer.

Anyone experience dealing with swapping jzs161 ecus? I recently purchased a Tom's TECS ecu off of yahoo auctions for dirt cheap. Turns out it came off of a late model Tom's VA300 aristo which had a black immobilizer plug next to the 5 white ecu plugs. My aristo is a 98 v300 that did not come equipped with an immobilizer so I'm not sure it will work. Are there any ways to delete or bypass the immobilizer?

Nope. A 2000+ ECU with immobiliser will not work in your 1998. It is possible to use a 98 ECU without immobiliser in a 2000+ car by leaving the black connector unplugged.
There is a guy in Australia who figured out how to bypass these immobilizer ECU, he showed video to prove it however he wasn't too keen on showing exactly how.
